  5. We at CONSULTRON would like to thank you for purchasing CrossDOS.  We
  6. are  always  trying  to  provide  you with a quality product for your
  7. productivity needs.

  9. The  files  included  with this archive are new and replacement files
  10. for   the  utilities  provided  on  the  CrossDOS  (full  READ/WRITE)
  11. installation  disk.   [Please  make  a  copy of the installation disk
  12. first].

  14. Most  of  the changes are to provide better WORKBENCH support.  Three
  15. new  utilities  have  been  added  which are, a global text filter, a
  16. diskchange  command  usable from WORKBENCH and a utility to mount and
  17. load  an  MS-DOS device without having to install the product on your
  18. system   disks.   To  use  the  global  text  filter  you  must  have
  19. "L/MSDOSFileSystem"    updated    to   V3.06c.    Patches   to   both
  20. "L/MSDOSFileSystem"  and "DEVS/mfm.device" can be found in a separate
  21. file called "CDP306c.lzh".

  23. Several of the utilities have project icons associated with them.  An
  24. example    is   the   utility   "Attach"   and   its   project   icon
  25. "Attach.DI0.info".   Additional  project icons can be made by copying
  26. the  icon  file  to another name (such as "Attach.DI1.info") and then
  27. modifying the TOOLTYPES parameter (to DI1) from the Project/Info menu
  28. in WORKBENCH.

  32. Installing the New/Revised CrossDOS Utilities
  33.  
  34. You can install the files from either WORKBENCH or the CLI.
  35.  
  36. To install the files from the CLI, type the following:
  37.  
  38.     cd <file_dir>                ; the directory where the files are.
  39.     execute patchMFS_Utilities df0:   ; df0:  or drive where CrossDOS
  40.                                       ; disk in.
  41.  
  42. To  install the files from WORKBENCH, select the "patchMFS_Utilities"
  43. icon   and   extend-select   (with   shift  key  held)  the  CrossDOS
  44. installation  disk  icon.   ["ICONX"  is  assumed  to be in your "C:"
  45. directory.]

  47. Once the files are applied, you should re-install the new files onto
  48. your system disk.

  54. Please  distribute  this  archive INTACT to any legal bulletin board.
  55. We  are  allowing  registered  purchasers of CrossDOS to update their
  56. version of the product (Version 3) to the current release at no cost.
  57. Those  who  do not have access to these files may send in $10.00, the
  58. original  disk,  and the completed warranty card.  We will update the
  59. disk to the current version and send it back.

  61. Updating "pirated" versions of CrossDOS are legally prohibited.
